PERRY –

Eddie was born on January 5, 1941, in Waynesville, North Carolina, to the late Paul and Ruby Carter. After moving to Georgia as a child, He attended Perry High School and later received his GED.
Eddie married Gail Annette Ellis on July 3, 1962. The two enjoyed 61 years together and took great pride in the family they built. Together, they had two sons and later welcomed grandchildren into their family. Eddie’s favorite moments were spent with his family at church and around the holidays.
Eddie worked for many years as an aircraft technician at Robins Air Force Base. He was highly skilled at his craft and enjoyed his work. Over his more than 40-year career, he became an experienced technician for the C-130 Hercules, the F-15 Eagle, as well as a helicopter specialist for the United States Air Force. His highly technical field inspired a love for technology which he carried with him his entire adult life.
Faith was a central theme in Eddie’s life, and his love for CHRIST was evident in all he did. He was a lifetime member of Memorial Heights Baptist Church and was active in servanthood, serving as the music minister for a period of time. Even when not at church, Eddie took great joy in studying the church and his appetite for learning about his Savior never faltered.
Eddie was preceded in death by his Mother and Father.
Left to cherish the memories they made together are his loving wife of 61 years, Gail Carter of Perry; his children, Jeffery Carter of Byron, GA and Christopher P. Carter of Atlanta, GA; his granddaughters, Cayla and Chloe Carter; and his sister, Audrey Jennings of Perry.
