Edward Tacsik's Obituary
ST. LOUIS, MO-Edward Tacsik, 89, formerly of Perry, passed away on May 29, 2016. Graveside Services will be held on Thursday, June 9, 2016, at 10:00 a.m. in Perry Memorial Gardens. Mr. Tacsik was born June 13, 1925, in Niles, Ohio. He proudly served our country in the U. S. Navy on the aircraft carrier USS CARD CVE 11 in WWII as an aviation metalsmith. At the end of WWII, he returned to Niles and worked at Bostwick Steel Lath Co. where he completed an apprenticeship program to be a machinist. In 1952, Mr. Tacsik married the love of his life, Jeannie Harker. In 1954, after the birth of their first child, the couple moved to Lakeland, Florida, and he began his career at Continental Can Company. In 1969, the couple along with now 3 children, moved to Perry, Georgia, where he would finish out 30+ years and retire from Continental Can Co. He was a member of St. Patrick Catholic Church. Mr. Tacsik was preceded by his beloved wife, Jeannie Harker Tacsik, and his son, Matt Tacsik.Survivors include his daughters, Debbie Sapp (Marvin) and Patricia Dunn (Curtis); 6 grandchildren; 3 great-grandchildren; and his friend and caregiver in recent years, Beryl Jean "Nikki" Carnes.Condolences for the family may be left in the online guestbook at www.watsonhunt.com.
