Edsel 'Don' Eudon Hampton's Obituary
Edsel Eudon “Don” Hampton, Jr., 59 of Haynesville, passed away on Tuesday, November 13, 2018. The family will gather at the home of Sam and Rhonda Hampton, Sr., 108 Thunder Road, Hawkinsville, Georgia 31036, on Friday, November 16, 2018 beginning at 5:00 p.m. All other services will be private. Edsel was born in Moulton, Alabama, to the late Edsel Eudon and Vera Jean Campbell Hampton, Sr. on December 25, 1958. He grew up in Alabama and eventually relocated to Montezuma, Georgia. Don met and married the love of his life, Beth Ann Whyde, they combined their families into one and together raised seven children. He was extremely proud of his Echota Cherokee Tribe heritage and carried his membership card everywhere he went. Don worked hard as a mill wright at Tolleson Lumber Company. He was known as a top-notch welder and that skill eventually led him to school where he earned a Technical Certificate in Welding. Don had a passion for racing cars and spent many hours at the racetrack in Cordele. He loved his family and will be missed by his four legged puppy dogs. Don was preceded in death by his parents. Left to cherish the memories they shared with Don are his wife, Beth Hampton; his children, Timothy A. Kent, Tonya Sue Hampton (Manual Salez), Samuel E. Hampton, Sr. (Rhonda), Misty Dawn Hampton, Shain Lee Hampton, Sr. (Jeanie), Edsel Eudon Hampton, III (Rachel), and Kristie Reagon Hastings (Jerome); twenty-two grand-children; seven great-grand-children; and sisters, Cathy Jean Young (Hilbilly) and Lisa Kay Miller (Brody).
