PERRY-Edna May Bailey Velie, 65, was called home to be with her Lord on Friday, October 6, 2017. The family will visit with friends on Wednesday, October 11, 2017, from 5:00 until 7:00 p.m. at Watson-Hunt Funeral Home. Funeral Services will be held on Thursday, October 12, 2017, at 2:00 p.m. at First Baptist Church of Perry. Interment will be in Perry Memorial Gardens immediately following the service. In lieu of flowers, the family respectfully requests memorial contributions to Gospel Tabernacle, 1975 Tucker Road, Perry, GA 31069.Edna was born in Fairfield, Illinois, to the late Sherman and Myrtle Hiley Bailey. When she was born, they had no idea that she was hand picked, chosen of the Lord, called to be one of His warriors. She leaves behind a legacy of kindness and joy in the Lord. All who knew her had richer and fuller lives because of her love and attention. She will forever be missed dearly. She was preceded in death by her brothers, James Bailey and Frankie Lee Bailey.Left to cherish the memories of Edna are her loving and devoted husband of 45 years, Gary Velie of Perry; her children, Aaron Velie (Dr. Jody) of Perry, Kara Hunt (Martin) of Griffin, and Rachel Velie of Perry; her grandchildren, Sean, Ethan, and Isabella Velie, and Zane Hunt; her sisters, Dorothy Randolph and Flora Randolph; and a host of natural and church family.Condolences for the family may be left in the online guestbook at www.watsonhunt.com.
