Dr. Eddie Nathaniel Pace's Obituary
A Cherished LifeEddie was born November 8, 1958 to Eddie N. Pace, Sr. and Elizabeth Pace (Wilson). He is the third child of four. He grew up primarily in Salem, AL with guidance from very important and influential members on both sides of the family. As a youth, he was active in numerous programs and events at Pleasant View Missionary Baptist Church, Salem, AL. Eddie was always an excellent student. He attended various elementary schools in both Washington, DC and Alabama and later graduated from Smith Station H.S. in 1977 as Valedictorian. He attended the University of AL majoring in Chemistry and graduated was a BS in 1981. He went on to pursue a career in medicine which began with his attendance at the University of Alabama School of Medicine from 1981-1985 and completing his Residency, Internal Medicine, University of Alabama Medical Center, Birmingham, AL in 1988. He moved to Mobile, AL in 1988 and began working with Prime Health Medical Group. Later, he became a partner of Mobile Adult Care group. Eddie was a practicing physician for over 29 years. He received many awards, honors and recognition during his professional life. Preceded in death by both grandmothers, Odelia “Granny” Pace and Juanita Wilson, Salem, AL, father Eddie N. Pace, Sr., Washington, DC, aunt, Myrtice Wilson, Salem, AL. Eddie is survived by Douglas M. Willard, life partner of 22 years, mother, Elizabeth Pace, sisters, Vernida (Joseph) Stone, Austin, TX, and Geraldine (Laurence) Eggers, Mobile, AL and brother Lorenzo Pace, Palm Springs, CA niece, Erica (Alex) Mosley and relatives spanning multiple generations to include uncles, aunts, a grand niece and nephew, as well as many cousins, friends and associates both close and by distant.“Celebrate his life and not mourn his passing”Arrangements under the direction of Serenity Funeral Home, Theodore, AL.
