Ed Ogletree's Obituary
Ed Ogletree, 87, formerly of Perry, passed away on Thursday, December 18, 2014. Funeral Services will be held on Monday, December 22, 2014, at 2:00 p.m. in the Chapel at Watson-Hunt Funeral Home. Interment will be in Woodlawn Cemetery immediately following the service. Visitation will be on Sunday, December 21, 2014, from 5:00 until 7:00 p.m. at Watson-Hunt Funeral Home.
Mr. Ogletree was born in Upson County to the late Nudis Willis Gay Ogletree and Mattie Lou Royals Ogletree. He and his family lived for many years in Perry. He was a prison guard at Houston County Correctional Institution and retired after over 24 years of service. In 1996, he moved to Roberta. He was a pentecostal. Mr. Ogletree was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 38 years, Emmie Moore Ogletree; a young daughter, Ruby Ogletree; and 4 brothers.
Survivors include his children, Henry Ogletree and Frankie Ogletree, both of Roberta, Kathy Rowland (Dan) of Forsyth, and Jackie Phillips (Lyle) of Sandy, Utah; 12 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; his sisters-in-law, Martha Grimsley of Centerville and Sally Ogletree of Eatonton; and many nieces and nephews.
