PERRY-Earlene Morris Sutton, 84, passed away on Tuesday, September 13, 2016, after an extended illness with her beloved husband by her side. A Graveside Service will be held on Friday, September 16, 2016, at Antioch Church Cemetery in Twin City, Georgia. In lieu of flowers, the family respectfully requests memorial contributions to Heart of Georgia Hospice, 103 Westridge Drive, Warner Robins, Georgia 31088.Mrs. Sutton was born in Statesboro and graduated from Statesboro High School. She married the love of her life, Roy Sutton. While Roy was in the U.S. Marines and stationed overseas, she lived in California for 17 years, and the couple moved to Perry in December 1971. Mrs. Sutton was a Master Seamstress who developed her sewing and alteration skills through the years at various vocational classes and training seminars, at which she eventually began teaching other students. Mrs. Sutton owned 2 fabric shops when they lived in California, and when they moved to middle Georgia, she opened Fashion Fabrics. She spent many hours sewing and installing draperies that she custom made for friends and customers. She was always busy doing something. Mrs. Sutton was a "go-getter" and never gave up. Mrs. Sutton was preceded in death by her parents, Earl and Stella Sanders Morris; her daughter, Linda Sutton Vance; and her 3 brothers.Left to cherish the memories of Earlene are her loving and devoted husband of 61 years, Roy Sutton of Perry; her granddaughter, Rachel Vance Pallmer (Chris) of McDonough; her sister, Ocelia Lee (Willie Frank) of Statesboro; and several nieces and nephews.Condolences for the family may be left in the online guestbook at www.watsonhunt.com.
