Dovie Crowhorn Herbert, 93, passed away on Thursday, March 19, 2015, after an extended illness. A private graveside service will be held Monday, March 23 at 11:00 at Perry Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, the family respectfully requests memorial contributions to Gentiva Hospice, http://www.gentivahospicefoundation.org
Mrs. Herbert was born in Lebanon Junction, Kentucky, to the late Henry and Cassie Smith Crowhorn. She married Paul Herbert in 1963 and built a life with him for 53 years. In 1970, they moved from Greensfork, IN to Perry, GA where she loved to cook, bake, and enjoy the company of her family and friends. For 12 years, she worked as a manager of Race Track Gas Station and later in her retirement, she worked at Kroger and Walmart. She was a member of Second Memorial Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by three sisters and four brothers; her daughter, Shirley Johnson Coon, and a grandson, Roger Leon Coon.
Left to cherish the memories of Mrs. Herbert is her husband, Paul Herbert; her daughter, Debbie Camr (Jiri) of Czech Republic; her grandchildren, William Joseph Coon, Tamara Wynn, Richelle Barrett Lambert (Phil), Dr. Britt Barrett; 7 great-grandchildren; 2 great-great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
