Douglas Jones' Obituary
Douglas F. Jones, age 83, passed away at home with his wife of 63 years Doris Jones by his side. Douglas was awarded the Bronze Star during the Korean Conflict, he served from 1950-1952. Douglas was a former member, employee and deacon of Cottage Hill Baptist Church. Dougs faith and Christianity was always a beacon to others. In his final days he was anticipating the day when he would be at the side of Jesus Christ. He was preceded in death by his son, Douglas “Bubba” Jones Jr., sister, Peggy Gross. He is survived by his daughter, Deborah (Robert) Galloway, son, Bruce A. (Robin) Jones, 5 grandchildren, 9 great grandchildren, brother, Leo C. Jones, special friend, Eddie Callaway, nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends. Visitation will be held at Serenity Funeral Home on Wednesday, October 14, 2015 from 9 am until 10 am. Graveside service will be held in Serenity Memorial Gardens on Wednesday, October 14, 2015 at 10 am.
