DOUG GRAHAM's Obituary
BYRON –
Dwight Douglas “Doug” Graham, 71, passed away peacefully on Saturday, March 20, 2021, after a brief illness. Graveside Services will be held on Friday, March 26, 2021, at 2:00 p.m. at Andersonville National Cemetery.
Doug was born in Dublin to the late Frank and Maggie Graham. He grew up in Warner Robins and graduated from Northside High School. He proudly served our country in the U. S. Army, during which time he earned a National Defense Service Medal, a Vietnam Service Medal, a Vietnam Campaign Medal, and a Purple Heart. Upon his return to middle Georgia, he was trained and worked as a fireman at the Warner Robins Fire Department. He joined Alcoholics Anonymous in 1982 and had been sober for over thirty-nine years. Doug sold used cars for a while, then he worked in Arizona on an Indian reservation as a counselor for several years. But wherever he was, Doug found and attended a local AA group. He volunteered with AA and helped counsel members and participants for many years. Doug was a free spirit who enjoyed spending time with friends and traveling when time allowed. He loved riding his Harley-Davidson motorcycle and often would take long trips through numerous states. He made a lot of friends through the years.
Doug leaves behind his godson, Dalton Rogers of Perry, and numerous friends who will miss him dearly.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and his brother, Bobby Graham.
Condolences may be left in the online guestbook at www.watsonhunt.com. Watson-Hunt Funeral Home has been entrusted with the arrangements.
