Dorothy C. Thompson, 83, passed away on Tuesday, June 14, 2016. Visitation will be held on Thursday, June 16, 2016, from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. at Watson-Hunt Funeral Home in Perry. Funeral Services will be held on Friday, June 17, 2016, at 3:00 p.m. at First Baptist Church of Haynesville. Interment will be in the church cemetery immediately following the service. In lieu of flowers, the family respectfully requests donations to the American Heart Association, 5962 Zebulon Road, PMB 359, Macon, GA 31210, or The Arthritis Foundation of Georgia, 1355 Peachtree St NE, 6th Floor, Atlanta, GA 30309. The family may be contacted at the home of Ricky and Dot Thompson.Mrs. Thompson was born in Johnson County, Georgia, and had lived in Haynesville since 1957. She was the daughter of the late Alvin and Agnes Black Clements. She married the love of her life, Victor Thompson, and the couple raised three sons. Mrs. Thompson, a homemaker, took pride in creating a loving a caring environment for their family. She was a member of First Baptist Church of Haynesville and the AAA Sunday School Class. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Victor Thompson.Left to cherish the memories of Mrs. Thompson are her sons, Ricky Thompson (Dot), Ronnie Thompson (Candy), and Darrell Thompson, all of Perry; one grandchild, Catherine Moulton (Matt); one great-grandchild, Mattilyn Moulton; and her caregiver, Merlyn Wilson.Condolences for the family may be left in the online guestbook at www.watsonhunt.com.
