Dorothy Marie Pierce's Obituary
Dorothy Marie Pierce, age 80, passed away on Wednesday, August 27, 2014. A woman of faith, devoted to God and family. Marie had many years of service teaching Sunday School and serving as Church Secretary. She retired from the Mobile County Public School System. She was preceded in death by her husband, H.L. Pierce, daughter, Theresa Davis, grandson, David Pierce, and son in law, Ernest Diard, parents, Vera and John Loper, sisters, Gail Whitney and Maxine Loper. She is survived by her children, Roy Pierce, Sherri (John) Poiroux, Pamela (John) Burson, Gwen (Joseph) Poiroux and Pete Davis. Grandchildren, Douglas Davis, Shelly (Tommy) Barko, Joshua (Tiffany) Poiroux, Matthew (Lesley) Diard, Melissa (Ricky) Pugh, Monica Diard, Jarrett (Sarah) Poiroux, Timothy (Linden) Davis, Jonathan Poiroux, Kaitlyn Poiroux, 7 great-grandchildren, Braelyn, Molly, Mattox, Chloe, Carter, Brantley, Macy, Marie was one of eleven siblings, James Loper, Alvin Loper, John Loper, Judy Tindol, Lena Jenkins, Elaine Dewrell, Jerry Loper, and cherished being blessed with her beautiful family, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Visitation will be Sunday August 31, 2014 at Serenity Funeral Home from 5pm till 8pm and the funeral will be Monday September 1, 2014 at 10 am from the chapel of Serenity Funeral Home. Interment will be in Serenity Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers donations may be given in her memory to your church or Living Word Church where she was a member.Arrangements under the direction of Serenity Funeral Home, Theodore, AL.
