Dorothy Mae Rawls “Dot” McKinnell, age 84, a native and longtime resident of Mobile passed away at home on Tuesday, February 4, 2014. She was preceded in death by her parents, Eli and Mamie Rawls, husband, John E. McKinnell Jr., son, Johnny McKinnell. She leaves to cherish her memories, daughters, Sybil (Lamar) Skinner of Laurel, MS, Helen (Robert) Tanner of Mobile, AL, son, William (Belinda) McKinnell of Mobile, AL, sister, Margaret Northcutt, 6 grandchildren, 7 great grandchildren, longtime devoted companion, Loyce Byrd, dedicated healthcare giver, Eula Williams, nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends. Funeral service will be held from the chapel of Serenity Funeral Home on Friday, February 7, 2014 at 10 am with visitation starting 9 am until service time. Interment will be in Dawes Cemetery.
