Dorothy "Dot" "Nanny" Dunagan, after a wonderfully rich 90 years on earth, Ms. Dorothy wnt to meet Christ on Sunday, October 19, 2014 at 6:15 pm surrounded by her family at home in Grand Bay. AL. Dorothy was born August 6, 1924 in Ringgold, LA. She moved to Mobile when she was married to Jack Nelson and had 2 daughters Joan and Debbie. Ms. Dorothy was preceded in death by Jack in March 1958. She married Clanton E. Dunagan from Caffeeville, AL. Ms. Dunagan was a highly praised part of the housekeeping staff for many hotels in the Mobile area. Ms. Dorothy always had a big smile and kind word for all she encountered. She loved to collect hummingbirds and play dominos with her family. She was also known as the best cook of Southern food by her grandchildren and any who sampled her deliscious food. Ms. Dorothy was preceded in death by her sisters, Pearl and Lula Maye, her first husband, Jack Nelson, grandson, Jerry Lee Clark Jr. She is survived by her granddaughter, Kristen Smith, her husband, Clanton E. Dunagan, daughters, Joan (Jerry) Clark, Debbie Folmar, grandchildren, Jeannie (Steve) Smith, Scott (Maribeth) Clark, Melissa (Matt) Quiggie, Christopher Miller, great grandchildren, Kriston (Kyle) Bunch, Derrick Copper, Tyler Clark, Olivia Quiggie, Nick Smith, Jordan Clark, great great-grandchildren, Kylee and Karlee Bunch. Visitation will be held at Serenity Funeral Home on Tuesday, October 21, 2014 from 5 pm until 8 pm. Funeral service will be held from the chapel of Serenity Wednesday, October 22, 2014 at 2 pm. Interment will be in Serenity Memorial Gardens. Donations can be sent to the Abba Shrine For Children Hospital. She will be missed by all, but her death celebrated with joyful knowing she is with our Lord and Savior. We love you very much Nanny. Palbears are: Derrick, Chris, Kyle, Danny, Mitchelle, Johnny.
