DORIS AUTHEMENT's Obituary
PERRY –
Doris Kimbrell Authement, 94, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, December 6, 2022. Services will be held on Saturday, December 10, 2022, in the Chapel at Christ’s Sanctified Holy Church Campground in Perry. The Visitation will begin at 1:00 p.m. followed by the Funeral starting at 2:00 p.m. Interment will be in the Christ’s Sanctified Holy Church Campground Cemetery immediately following the service.
Doris was born in the Savannah, Georgia, area on November 14, 1928, to the late Titus and Lula Barrett Kimbrell. She graduated from Jordan High School in Columbus. She met and married the love of her life, Cleveland Floyd Authement, and the couple made their home in Pensacola, Florida, for many years. The majority of her time was spent as a homemaker and a mother, nurturing and comforting all of the children in her life, as well as a caregiver for many of her ancestors and older family members. Providing attentive care for others was certainly Doris’s specialty. Along with her own children, Doris welcomed many foster children through the years and anyone who needed a place to stay. Doris was a long-time member of Christ’s Sanctified Holy Church and lived for the last forty-five years at the Church Campground in Perry. For the past ten years, the roles were reversed, and Doris was loved and cared for by the staff at the Church Home.
Doris was preceded in death by her parents; her loving and devoted husband of sixty-two years, Cleveland Floyd Authement; her sister, Joy Johnson; and one of her sons, John Authement.
Left to cherish the memories they made with Doris are her children, Trudy Cook (Jerry) of Pace, FL, Gail Authement of Perry, GA, and Brent Authement (Jackie) of Yulee, FL; her daughter-in-law, Wanda Authement of Pensacola, FL; eight grandchildren; thirteen great-grandchildren; nine great-great-grandchildren; and several nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews.
Condolences for the family may be left in the online guestbook at www.watsonhunt.com. Watson-Hunt Funeral Home has been entrusted with the arrangements.
