Donnie Lane's Obituary
Donnie Ray Lane, a native and lifelong resident of Mobile, AL, died Wednesday, July 15, 2015 at the age of 67. He is survived by his wife of 41 years, Debra Touchstone Lane; his daughter and son in law, Nikki and Chad Broadus; one grandson, Wyatt Broadus; one granddaughter, Whitney Broadus; sisters, Anita (DW) Sisson, Gloria Huggins, Sandra (Ricky) Kearsey; and one brother, Clyde Lane. He is also survived by brother in laws and sister in laws; Carol (Bert Grenuik) McIlwain, Linda Touchstone, Patricia (Tommy) Brown, Mildred (Rick) Hoxworth, Ken Touchstone, and Mike (Diane) Touchstone; many cousins, nieces, nephews and great friends.He was preceded in death by his parents, Clyde and Gladys Lane; 3 sisters, Miriam Barnes, Ann Stacey, Iris Tarver; mother and father in law, Grady and Asilean Touchstone; and one sister in law, Voncile Tate.Donnie's love for music was only surpassed by his love for his family and friends. Anyone who had the pleasure of meeting him, instantly fell in love with his vibrant smile and love of life. His caring and giving has touched many families. Donnie was the rock of his family and was always there to lend a helping hand.The family would like to thank the nurses at Providence Hospital for the wonderful care he received.A visitation will be held at Serenity Funeral Home on Saturday, July 18, 2015 at 12:00 pm to 2:00 pm. A funeral service by David Tripp will be held at 2:00 in the Chapel.
