CHESAPEAKE, VA-Donald Albert Rickards, 72, born in Milford, DE, went to his heavenly home on February 17, 2016. Funeral Services will be held on Sunday, February 21, 2016, at 2:00 p.m. at Christ's Sanctified Holy Church in Perry, GA. Burial will be in the Church Cemetery immediately following the service. The family will visit with friends on Saturday, February 20, 2016, at 7:00 p.m. at Christ's Sanctified Holy Church. Donald was a long-time member of Christ's Sanctified Holy Church, currently attending the church in Chesapeake, Virginia. Owner of Rickards Concrete Service, he has always been a concrete contractor, having lived in Augusta, Georgia for 23 years, Wilmington, North Carolina for over 20 years, and finally residing in Chesapeake, Virginia for many years. Left to cherish the memories of Donald are his loving and devoted wife of 56 years, Elsie Rickards of Chesapeake, VA; his 4 daughters and their husbands, Fran and Jay Collins, Jana and Garland Simons, Dana and Todd Rothfuss, all of Chesapeake, VA, and Deanne and Kenneth Collier, of Virginia Beach, VA; 12 dearly loved grandchildren who affectionately referred to him as "GranDon"; his parents, Elwood and Frances Rickards of Chesapeake, VA; a brother, Scott Rickards of Sandy, OR; and great-uncle, Bobby Rickards of Norfolk, VA; and a loving host of family and friends.Condolences for the family may be left in the online guestbook at www.watsonhunt.com.
