DONALD OLIN "DON" CHESTNUT's Obituary
PERRY –
Donald Olin “Don” Chestnut, 74, passed away peacefully on Monday, November 11, 2024. Services will be held on Friday, November 15, 2024, at Watson-Hunt Funeral Home in Perry. Visitation will be held from 1:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m. The funeral will begin at 2:00 p.m. with Pastor Gabe Cox officiating. Interment in Perry Memorial Gardens will be private. In lieu of flowers, the family respectfully requests memorial contributions to the donor’s favorite charity.
Don was born on December 1, 1949, in Perry, Georgia, to the late Lester Chestnut and the late Dottie Ree Hancock Chestnut. After graduating from Perry High School, Don accepted a position with the Perry Police Department. Don was a dedicated Perry Police Officer and retired after 28 years of service with the department. He was also a member of the Georgia Peace Officers Association.
Don was preceded in death by his parents; his brother, Hoyt Chestnut; and his three sisters, Evelyn Anderson, Mary DeQuadia, and Patsy Wynn.
Left to cherish the memories they made with Don are his loving and devoted wife, committed to each other for 31 years, Sharon Wies Chestnut; his daughter, Tiffany Anne Chestnut of Killeen, Texas; his sisters, Mabel Nutt, Grace Lawhorn, Nadine Bendon, and Alice Jackson; brother, Mike Albert Chestnut; many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.
