Denise 'Nisi' Russ' Obituary

Denise "Nisi" Russ, 62, passed away unexpectedly on February 3, 2015, at her residence. A Memorial Service will be held on Thursday, February 12, 2015, at 3:00 p.m. at Andrew United Methodist Church in Kathleen. In lieu of flowers, please make memorial contributions to Andrew United Methodist Church.
"Nisi" was born in Macon to the late William and Barbara Blanton Russ. She was an active member of Andrew United Methodist Church where she taught Sunday School, led prayer circles, and served in AUMC Women's ministries in all capacities. Nisi played piano and led music at AUMC for several years. She often led Bible Studies at AUMC and also Crossroads United Methodist Church. Nisi enjoyed leading a book club once a month for anyone who wanted to come. She was always welcoming to new members and old, alike. She was a huge fan of the Atlanta Braves. She enjoyed watching them on tv and loved attending games at the stadium in Atlanta. Nisi loved children. Her greatest love, though, was her God and Savior. She also loved to go out to eat with friends. She was always up to trying something new. Nisi will be dearly missed by all those who knew and loved her.
