Mr. Demetrios George Sypsas' Obituary
Demetrios G. Sypsas (affectionately known as Papou) fell asleep in death on December 24, 2014 at the age of 103. He was born to George and Athena Sypsas in Frangista, Greece, on October 18, 1911. He married Evridiki Katsaros in 1942 and they were blessed with four children. They moved to the United States in 1956 and after first residing in Tennessee the family moved to Mobile in 1960. Demetrios was preceded in death by his beloved wife Evridiki, his parents, and all his siblings. He is survived by his children, Nula Adams who is widowed and resides in Jackson, MS, Meme Smith (Charles), Stefan Sypsa (Karen), George Sypsa (Phyllis) all of Mobile, AL 10 grandchildren, 4 great grandchildren, all of whom will miss their Papou. Funeral services will be held from the chapel of Serenity Funeral Home on Saturday, December 27, 2014 at 12 noon with visitation from 10 am until service time. Interment will be in Serenity Memorial Gardens.Arrangements under the direction of Serenity Funeral Home, Theodore, AL.
