PERRY-Debra Jan Joiner Willis, 67, passed away in the early hours of Friday, September 1, 2017, after a courageous battle with cancer. A Memorial Service honoring her life will be held at Grace Church in Perry on Sunday, September 17,2017 at 3:00 P.M. The family will receive friends an hour before the service at 2:00 P.M. In lieu of flowers, the family respectfully requests memorial contributions to the University of Georgia Foundation for the Karin Elizabeth Willis Scholarship Fund, 220 Holmes/Hunter Academic Building, Athens, GA 30602-6114. Debra was born in Brunswick to the late Lemuel and Itaska Williford Joiner. Earlier in life, she lived in Marietta and was a Certified Ophthalmic Technician at Marietta Eye Clinic for 19 years. She met the love of her life on a blind date and they soon married. In the late 1990's, the couple moved to Perry where Debra's new career became homemaker. She enjoyed gardening, cooking, and participating in Bible studies. A long-time member of Grace Church, Debra was very active with the Helping Hands Committee and founded the Beans and Rice Ministry there. She touched a lot of lives, and will be dearly missed. Left to cherish the memories of Debra are her loving and devoted husband of 21 years, Jerry Willis of Perry; her daughter, Michelle Reynolds of Milledgeville; her sons, Richard Moore of Port St. Lucie, Florida, Tal Willis (Jodi) of Hobe Sound, Florida, and Michael Willis of Columbia, South Carolina; her granddaughters, Sarah Moore and Sydney Reynolds; her sisters, Belesia Joiner of Washington, DC, and Tonya Ducey (Fred) of Columbia, South Carolina; and a nephew, Matthew Ducey.Condolences for the family may be left in the online guestbook at www.watsonhunt.com.
