Creola Williams Smith's Obituary
Sister Creola Williams Smith's life began in Monroeville, Alabama. She was one of the twelve siblings born to Jeff and Caroline Tate Williams. She acknowledged a love for Christ and began her journey to eternity at an early age. She has been a dedicated member of Mt. Gilead Baptist Church for seventy two years. She loved her church and her pastor. She humbly demonstrated a genuine love for people. To her family she was the rock. She is irreplaceable. Sister Smith was married to Lucas Jones in 1929. To that union was born two children, Elizabeth and Robert Lee Jones. She later married Burrell Smith Jr. and assumed a beautiful blended family. Now surviving, she leaves Elizabeth Roberson, Robert Lee Jones, Burrell Smith III, Eleanor S. Bush. She leaves Twenty-two grandchildren, including Mary Ealey and Trayon Jones, great grandchildren and caregivers. She also leaves many great and great-great grandchildren. Sister smith leaves behind a much cherish niece and nine attentive great nieces. She has two great nephews. As a member of Mt. Gilead Sister Smith never idled. She was president of the Women's Mission for several years. She sang in Choir as long as she was able and participated wherever and whenever she was needed. Funeral service will be held at Mt. Gilead Baptist Church on Monday, July 28, 2014 at 11 am with visitation starting from 10 am until service time. Interment will be in Lawn Haven Memorial Gardens.
