Cindy Yelton's Obituary
Services for Cynthia “Cindy” Davis Yelton, 59, of Elko, Georgia will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Tuesday, November 27, 2018 at First Baptist Church of Perry. Reverend Jamie Powell will officiate. Burial will follow in the Elko Community Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 1:00 until 3:00 p.m. at the church prior to the funeral. Serving as pallbearers will be Jody Andrews, David Carr, Wesley Ellis, Jim Langston, Tim Lewis, and Allen Wood. In lieu of flowers, the family respectfully requests that memorial contributions be made to First Baptist Church of Perry, 1105 Main Street, Perry, Georgia 31069. Cindy went to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Sunday, November 25, 2018, at Perry Hospital after a lengthy illness. A 1981 graduate of Clemson University, she was a Registered Nurse by profession and worked for many years at Perry Hospital and at Dr. Gregory Harold’s office in Perry. In recent years she had been employed in the Revenue Management Department at Houston Medical Center in Warner Robins. Cindy was a faithful member of Perry First Baptist Church where she and her family have been active for many years. Over the years she has taught Bible School, children’s mission groups and sang in the church choir. She loved spending time with her children and grandchildren, working in her flower beds, walking for exercise, and feeding and watching the birds around the farm. Surviving are her loving and devoted husband of 37 years, David Yelton of Elko; her son and daughter-in-law, Zach and Maggie Yelton of Bluffton, SC; her daughter and son-in-law, Katie Beth and Justin Thompson of Arab, Alabama; and her grandchildren, Taylor Ann Thompson, Napp Yelton, Mackenzie Thompson, and Sally Yelton. Also surviving are her father, Robert Davis of Cumming, Georgia; her brother, Jeff Davis (Diane) of Redmond, Washington; and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her mother, Roberta Norris Davis, and her sister, Deborah Davis Price. Condolences for the family may be left in the online guestbook at www.watsonhunt.com.
