CINDY OLIVER PADGETT's Obituary
HAYNESVILLE –
Cynthia Jo “Cindy” Oliver Padgett, 66, passed away peacefully on Thursday, July 27, 2023, at her home. Services will be held on Monday, July 31, 2023, at First Baptist Church of Haynesville with Visitation beginning at 1:00 p.m., and the Funeral starting at 2:00 p.m. Reverend David Fisher will be officiating. Burial will be immediately following the service in the church cemetery where Cindy will be laid to rest beside her beloved husband. In lieu of flowers, the family respectfully requests memorial contributions to Alzheimer’s Association, 3040 Riverside Drive, Macon, GA 31210, or to Langston Road Elementary School Family Fund, 315 Langston Road, Perry, GA 31069.
Cindy was born on August 27, 1956, to the late Buddy and Virginia Oliver. She grew up in Houston County and graduated from Perry High School in 1974. She began working for the Houston County school system as a crossing guard. After a few years, Cindy accepted a position as a Paraprofessional in the classroom, which she enjoyed. She worked at several different elementary schools including the last place she worked, Langston Road Elementary School. Cindy retired with twenty-seven years of service in education. She coached Girls’ Softball at Ochlahatchee for a good many years, loving every minute of the time she spent coaching. Her passion and joy in life came from her sons and her grandchildren. She loved to watch Caleb play baseball, cheer for Jasmine at her volleyball games, and hear how Haley and Southerly finished at their swim meets. She was delighted to tell all the things Grayson was learning and doing.
Cindy was preceded in death by her parents; her loving and devoted husband of forty-six years, Keith Padgett; her sister, Linda Oliver; and her brother, Mike Oliver.
Left to cherish the memories they made with Cindy are her sons, Shawn Padgett of Perry and Kyle Padgett (Jennifer) of Ooltewah, Tennessee; her sister, Dianne Passinault (Jim) of Fort Valley, Georgia; her grandchildren, Caleb, Jasmine, Haley, Southerly, and Grayson; and several nieces, nephews, and other extended family members.
Condolences for the family may be left in the online guestbook at www.watsonhunt.com. Watson-Hunt Funeral Home has been entrusted with the arrangements.
