CHIP LAIN's Obituary
PERRY –
Chip Lain, 59, passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, August 31, 2021. A private service will be held for the family.
Chip was born in Opelika, Alabama, to the late Chester Lain, Sr. and the late Nan Lowery Lain. He was a devoted husband, a loving dad, and a special “Pepaw” to his grandchildren. Chip loved hunting and fishing, and also had so much fun singing karaoke and dancing when he had the chance. He was like a second Dad to many friends of his children and enjoyed cooking for his family. Chip was a fan of the Auburn Tigers and could often be found watching SEC football on the weekends during the fall each year. He loved “hanging out” at home, especially with his grandson to whom he lovingly referred to as “Cotton.”
Chip was preceded in death by his parents; an infant brother; his sisters, Diane Lain Bentz and Cindy Lain; and his generous father-in-law, Thomas Britt.
Left to cherish the memories they made with Chip are his loving and devoted wife of sixteen years, Trina Lavender-Lain; his children, Cole Lavender (Harley), Kelley Lavender (Grant), Katie Lavender (Trace), Joey Lain, Travis Lain (Chandler), and Elizabeth Thompson (Chandler); his grandchildren, Oliver “Cotton” Lavender, Judd Lavender, and Sadie and Cane Thompson; his sisters, Jean Davidoff and Sharon Costello (Charlie); his caring mother-in-law, Jeanne Britt; and several nieces and nephews.
Condolences for the family may be left in the online guestbook at www.watsonhunt.com. Watson-Hunt Funeral Home has been entrusted with the arrangements.
