Cherrie Simmons' Obituary
Cherrie Simmons, 62, passed away on Wednesday, December 26, 2012 at the Coliseum Medical Center in Macon. Funeral Services will be held at 4:00 p.m. on Friday, December 28, 2012, at the First Baptist Chuch of Haynesville with interment in the church cemetery. A visitation will be held from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Thursday, December 27, 2012, at Watson-Hunt Funeral Home. Rev. David Fisher and Rev. Tim Gray will officiate.
Cherrie was a lifelong resident of Haynesville and was the daughter of of the late Bud and Inez Bryant Yansom. She was a graduate of Perry High School and a member of First Baptist Church of Haynesville. Most folks will remember her as a hard working waitress at the Coffee Cup and Capri Restaurant where she worked for over 35 years. She will be missed by her loyal customers. She was preceded in death by her brothers, Gus Yansom, David Yansom, and Mickey Yansom, and her husband, William Simmons.
Left to cherish her memory are her daughter, Cherrie Lynn Gooding (Edwin) of Haynesville; grandchildren, Staci Simon of Haynesville and Taylor Smith of Perry.
