CHARLOTTE McNELIS's Obituary
HAWKINSVILLE –
Charlotte Louella Collins McNelis, 74, passed away peacefully at home on Saturday, July 26, 2025. Funeral Services will be held on Thursday, July 31, 2025, at Friendship Baptist Church in Warner Robins with Pastor Paul Cowles officiating. Visitation will begin at 10:00 a.m., and the funeral will begin at 11:00 a.m. Interment will be at 3:00 p.m. in Fairview Memorial Gardens, 164 Fairview Road, Stockbridge, Georgia, where she will be laid to rest beside her beloved husband. Flowers will be gratefully accepted, or memorial contributions may be made to Friendship Baptist Church, 1322 Feagin Mill Road, Warner Robins, Georgia 31088.
Charlotte was born on June 16, 1951, to the late Charlie and Mittie Lou Collins in McDonough, Georgia. She worked with the Henry County School System in various positions through the years, including as a Substitute Teacher, as a Paraprofessional, and as a member of the Environmental Team. She worked for nearly twenty years in education. Charlotte was a member of Friendship Baptist Church and a member of the Sunshine Sunday School Class. She loved her family.
Charlotte was preceded in death by her parents; her brothers, Henry Collins, Benny Collins, Gene Collins, and James Collins; and her brother-in-law, James Bennett.
Left to cherish the memories they made with Charlotte are her daughter and son-in-law, Angel and Rob Johnson of Hawkinsville; her son and daughter-in-law, Richard and Jessica McNelis of Ellenwood, Georgia; eleven grandchildren; twenty-two great-grandchildren; her sister, Ann Bennett of Loganville, Georgia; and numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews.
