Life Legacy
Mr. Charles W. Slayton, 91, of Panama City, FL passed away Saturday, January
13, 2018.
Mr. Slayton was born May 25, 1926 to Will E. Slayton and Nellie Slayton Brooks.
He was a lifelong member of Christ's Sanctified Holy Church in Perry, GA.
Mr. Slayton retired from the United States Air Force after 33 years of service.
He was a veteran of WWII, the Korean Conflict, and the Vietnam War.
Mr. Slayton was a member of Parker VFW Post 8205.
After retiring from the United States Air Force, he worked at the Tyndall Air
Force Base Golf Course.
Mr. Slayton was preceded in death by his parents, Will Slayton and Nellie Brooks;
two sisters: Anita Davis and Louise Chauvin, and brother, Claude Slayton. He is
survived by his wife of 65 years, Louise Slayton of Panama City; son, Richard
Slayton of Panama City; daughter, Lois D. Janssen and husband Edward G. Jr. of
Lewisville, TX; two grandchildren: Cynthia L. and Charles E. Janssen; sister,
Pearl Walker of Augusta, GA and numerous nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m, EST Thursday, January 18, 2018 at
Christ's Sanctified Holy Church, Perry, GA.
Interment will follow in Christ's Sanctified Holy Church Cemetery.
The family will receive friends at Southerland Family Funeral Home,
Wednesday, January 17, 2018 from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m CT.
