Hello. I am an author with the University of Georgia Press and spoke with Mr. Evans a couple of years ago. His land in Fort Valley once belonged to Georgia cookbook author Mary Edgeworth (Southern Gardener and Receipt Book of 1859). I called to ask if there were any graves found on his property as Mrs. Edgeworth's burial place is unknown. He was so kind and helpful, letting me know there were no graves but suggesting some other avenues of research. I promised I would let him know when my book came out. I was sad to learn that he died. I wanted to let his family know that his name appears in the Acknowledgments section of my book, Georgia's Historical Recipes. Thank you. --Valerie J. Frey
