Charles Michael Ellis' Obituary
Charles (Chuck) Michael Ellis age 60 a resident of Coden, AL passed away at home surrounded by his loving family on Saturday, March 5, 2016 after a hard fought battle with cancer. Chuck was born in Burlington, Vermont to Robert and Beatrice Ellis. He was a loving brother to Patricia (married to David Granger), Bob (married to Jen), Laurie (married to Jim Fay), and Bill (married to Marsha). He attended Burlington High School.Chuck leaves behind his wife, Kathleen (Harrison), daughter, Chandra (married to Leo Broadnax), son Patrick, and grandson Jonathan and a host of loving nieces, nephews, and in-laws.Captain Chuck worked tirelessly for over 40 years as a Master Captain (Merchant Marine) for barge towing and ferry services along the greater Atlantic seaboard, Gulf of Mexico, and the Caribbean. He took immense pride in working most of his career for Moran Towing until he was unable to in October of 2015. In his free time, he loved to golf, travel, and enjoy quality time with his family. A celebration of his life will be held privately.
