Charles Edward Scoggins' Obituary
PERRY-
Charles Edward Scoggins, TSG, USAF, Retired, 81, passed away on Monday, September 8, 2014. A Graveside Service with full military honors will be held on Wednesday, September 10, 2014, at 10:00 a.m. in Woodlawn Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family respectfully requests memorial contributions to Heart of Georgia Hospice, 1120 Morningside Drive, Perry, GA 31069, or The American Cancer Society, 804 Cherry Street, Macon, GA 31201. The family may be contacted at the home of Maxine Marshall.
Mr. Scoggins was born in Walker County to the late L. Roy and Jayme Coulter Scoggins. He proudly served our country in the U. S. Air Force and retired after 20 years of service. Upon retirement, he worked for Houston County as a building inspector. His passion was fishing, and he was a great fisherman. For a number of years, Charles lived on a lake in Bunnell, Florida, for 6 months out of the year and lived in Perry, Georgia, for the other 6 months. He was a Baptist. He was preceded in death by 2 children, Charles E. "Chuckie" Scoggins, Jr., and Jacqueline Scoggins; a brother, James D. Scoggins; and a sister, Hazel S. Estes.
Left to cherish the memories of Charles are his daughters and their husbands, Sandra and Billy Mansfield of Jacksonville, Florida, and Gwen and Tommy Taylor of Foley, Alabama; his grandchildren, Tennille Mansfield Caporini (Mark), Aaron Pugh, and Ashley Pugh Jordan (Justin); his great-grandchildren, Alexandra Caporini, Isabella Caporini, Josephine Caporini, and Jocelyn Kuklo; his brother, Leland Scoggins (Ollie) of Summerville, Georgia; his sister, Maxine Marshall of Perry; and several nieces and nephews.
