Life Legacy
KathleenPSG Cecil E. Wiggins, US Army (ret.) 79, passed away on Wednesday, March 30, 2016 at the Heart of Georgia Inpatient Unit, with his loving family by his side. A Memorial Service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Sunday, at Watson-Hunt Funeral Home with full military honors. A visitation will be held from 1:00-2:00 p.m. at the funeral home prior to the service. The family suggests contributions to St. Jude's or Gary Sinise Foundation, P.O. Box 50008, Studio City, CA 91614-5001. Mr. Wiggins was born in Lauderdale, Mississippi and was the son of Cecil Parrish and Annie Ruth Shelby Wiggins. A proud 20 year veteran of the United States Army, he served in Korea and three tours in Viet Nam. During his military career, he was awarded many citations and was proud to be a Master Paratrooper.After his military career, he graduated from Austin Peay University. Mr. Wiggins loved his family and had a deep faith, reading his Bible each morning. Things that were dear to him were fishing, gardening, traveling, geneology, going to have coffee with his friends ("the geezar group"). He could be found most of the time tinkering in his garage or watching Netflix with his dear wife, Gwen.Left to cherish his memory are his wife, Gwen Johnson Wiggins of Kathleen; children, Les Wiggins (Cindy) of Santa Clarita, CA, Johnny Wiggins (Kim) of Colorado Springs, CO, David Hoffman of Ft. Mill, SC, and Sheralyn Hoffman of Perry; sister, Faye Larson of Marion, Mississippi; fourteen grandchildren and twelve great-grandchildren.
