Cecil Joseph Bosarge's Obituary
WWII Veteran, Cecil Joseph Bosarge of USS COWPENS CVL 25, born in Biloxi Mississippi August 1 1926 - July 4, 2015 age 88 passed away at home in Irvington Alabama. He was preceded in death by his parents, Walter and Agnes Bosarge, brother, Walter Jr., sisters, Mary Margaret Risner, June Vaughn and Ruth Steele, infant granddaughters, Nicole and Krista Ann Bosarge and 16 year old Bethany Bosarge.He is survived by his wife of 67 years, Bernice Kryger Bosarge, sons and daughter, Michael (Wanda), Larry (Christy), Barry and JoBeth Bosarge, grandchildren, Trey (Brandi), Erik, Bradford (Irella) and Britton (Jetsunla) Bosarge, Ashley (Thomas) Weinacker, Maggi (Vann) Joyner and Jessica (Matt) Klingeman, great grandchildren, Ariel Villegas and Joseph Joyner, Madison Bosarge, Abbey and Ian Schoening, Emily Weinacker, Kristopher, Bethany and Blair Klingeman, John Thomas, Gianna and Sofia Bosarge, Adele and Cynric Bosarge, Murphy Zirlott and Brodie Cain, and numerous nieces, nephews and many friends. Special WWII Navy crewmen, adoptive family sponsor Betty Phillips and friends associated with annual Mighty Moo Naval Reunion of Cowpens, SC. Cecil Joseph Bosarge was a direct descendent of Joseph P. Bosarge, founder of Bayou La Batre, AL 1786.He had a creative mind that would not stop, was a strong provider to his family, a retiree of Scott Paper Co of 25 years, a gift for making a short story long and was a gracious friend who could bring a smile to anyone he met. Cecil was additionally an active member of the Irvington Fellowship Bible Church. As a member of the Bayou LaBatre-Coden Historical Foundation, donations in Cecil's honor would make a meaningful memorial. Irvington, AL 36544 on Wednesday, July 8, 2015 from 5-8pm. Funeral services will also be held at the church on Thursday, July 9, 2015 at 12 noon with an hour prior viewing at 11 am. Interment will follow at the Oddfellow Cemetery on Hwy 188.
