Catherine Louise McLean Grimes' Obituary
Catherine Louise McLean Grimes passed peacefully to Heaven, surrounded by loving family, on December 3, 2016 in Mobile, Alabama. She was a lifelong member of Grace United Methodist Church. Throughout her lifetime, she was "momma" to over 80 foster children. Her family and friends knew her door was always open to come join her in drinking some sweet tea or finding the Braves or Auburn games on TV. She was preceded in death by her parents, Alexander and Mary Catherine McLean, her sisters, Virginia and Esther, and her granddaughter Courtney. She is survived by her husband of 50 years, Sidney "Opie" Grimes, her siblings, Budd (Connie), David (Angie), Beedie (Jackie), and Mary Anne (Don), her children, Tammy, Catherine, Steven (Heather), Laura, Heather, and Christina, her grandchildren, Jamey, Jessi (Sydney), Amanda, Karen (Gabriel), Zoey, Kaleb, Conner, Hannah, Catherine, Christopher, and Elizabeth, and her great-grandchildren, Jadyn, Zoey, Corey, Flin, Chasedon, Deaven, Molly, Suzanne and Theodore, as well as many nieces, nephews, and great nieces and nephew, other relatives and many friends. In lieu of flowers the family request that donation to be made to UMC children's home. Funeral service will be held at Serenity Funeral Home on Wednesday, December 7, 2016 at 12 noon with visitation from 10 am until service time. Interment will be in Serenity Memorial Gardens.
