Carrie Calhoun's Obituary
Perry,Carrie Mitchell Calhoun, 88, passed away on Saturday, February 6, 2016. A graveside service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday at Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church near Vienna. The family suggests contributions to the donor's favorite charity. Mrs. Calhoun was born in Dooly County and was the daughter of the late Jesse Lee and Vera Bell Mitchell. A homemaker most of her life, she loved crafts, painting, sewing, and even made dolls. She had been active in the Cornerstone Baptist Church, the VFW Auxillary, and a member of the Modern Woodman of the World.Left to cherish her memory are her childen; Danny M. Calhoun of Perry, Wayne Calhoun of Colorado Springs, Colorado, and Gregory Calhoun of Newport, Tennessee; siblings, Lloyd Mitchell of Cochran and Carolyn Layson of Macon; four grandchildren and one great grandchild.
