CAROLYN McDONALD LAMB's Obituary
ABBEVILLE –
Carolyn McDonald Lamb, 89, passed away on Thursday, December 15, 2021. Graveside Services will be held on Sunday, December 19, 2021, at 3:00 p.m. in Perry Memorial Gardens in Perry.
Carolyn was born in Worth County on March 17, 1932, to the late Harvey and Irene Powell McDonald. She married the love of her life, Charles D. Lamb, and they lived in Milan and Cordele before settling in Perry. Together they helped to found and pastor the Perry Church of God for thirty years. Carolyn held several roles through the years at the church including Sunday School teacher, clerk, and Bible School director, among many others that were needed at the time. She loved her church and her church family, but her greatest passion in life was her family, whom she adored. She enjoyed hunting, particularly when she could go hunt deer or hogs with her children or grandchildren. She owned and operated L & L Supply for over ten years. Working in the yard, planting and nurturing flowers and vegetables, was one of her favorite things to do, and she spent a great deal of time outdoors. Carolyn was a wonderful cook and was most famous for her biscuits, Brunswick stew, and barbecue sauce. She will be dearly missed by those who knew and loved her.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her brothers, Gene McDonald and Willie McDonald; her loving and devoted husband of sixty-five years, Rev. Charles Lamb; a grandson, Kyle Lamb; her sons, Danny Lamb and Keith Lamb; and a son-in-law, Leon Allen.
Left to cherish the memories they made with Carolyn are her daughters, Pat Allen of Abbeville, and Dianne Lee (Doug) of Perry; six grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren; three great- great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Condolences for the family may be left in the online guestbook at www.watsonhunt.com. Watson-Hunt Funeral Home in Perry has been entrusted with the arrangements.
