FORSYTH-Carol Plumley Haslam Merrill, 76, passed away on Monday, November 13, 2017, after a long struggle with Alzheimer's. Funeral Services will be held privately. A Celebration of Life will be held on November 24, 2017, from 12:00 noon until 2:00 p.m. at the Carriage House Restaurant, 125 Langston Circle, Perry, Georgia 31069. In lieu of flowers, the family respectfully requests memorial contributions to "Save-A-Pet", P. O. Box 933, Forsyth, GA 31029.Carol, or "Plum" as she was affectionately called, grew up in Piedmont, Alabama. Carol graduated from Auburn University with a degree in Mathematics in 1962. In 1964, she married the love of her life, Jeffrey Lynn Merrill. She worked as a Comptroller for Southern Forest Industries in Smarr, Georgia, for 29 years until she retired in 2014. Plum is survived by her loving and devoted husband of 53years, Jeff; her daughter and son-in-law, Traci and Jim Marshall; her granddaughter, Peyton Marshall; her niece, Brenda Lederach (Phil); her great-niece, Carolyn Buttram; and her nephew, Steve Buttram.Condolences for the family may be left in the online guestbook at www.watsonhunt.com.
