DACULA, GEORGIA –
Barry “Brian” Thames, 52, passed away unexpectedly on Sunday, June 28, 2026. Visitation will be held on Sunday, July 12, 2026, from 3:00 until 5:00 p.m. at Watson-Hunt Funeral Home in Perry. Funeral services will be held on Monday, July 13, 2026, at 1:00 p.m. in the chapel at Watson-Hunt Funeral Home in Perry. Interment will be private. A celebration of life will be held at Brian’s home on Saturday, July 18, 2026, details to be announced when they are available. In lieu of flowers, the family respectfully requests memorial contributions to St. Jude Children’s Hospital, 262 Danny Thomas Place, Memphis, TN 38105, or The Shriners Hospitals for Children, P.O. Box 1525, Ranson, WV 25438.
Brian was born on June 7, 1974, in Warner Robins, Georgia, and lived in Perry and Thomaston before moving to Cumming where he graduated from Forsyth Central High School in 1992. Brian worked as the Store Leads Associate for the Sienna Corporation where he enjoyed working for the past 12 years. Brian loved his family and enjoyed spending time with them. He will be dearly missed by all those who knew him.
Brian was predeceased by his father, Barry M Thames and his mother-in-law, Janice Blessing.
Left to cherish the memories they made with Brian are his loving wife of 31 years, Larissa Dawn Thames of Dacula; his children, Starr Thames of Lula, Will Thames of Dacula, and Jonathan Thames of Dacula; his beloved mother and stepfather, Pat Wilson Harris and Randall Harris of Cumming; his sisters, Brooke Barnes of Arizona, and Becky Hicks of Dawsonville; his daughter in law, Shayla Westendorf; his father in law, Bill Blessing, and many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins, all of his loving pets, and of course his friends.
