Bobby Ray Champion's Obituary
KATHLEEN-Bobby Ray Champion, 64, died Sunday, February 28, 2016, at his home in Kathleen, Georgia. A memorial service for Mr. Champion will be held on Friday, March 11, 2016, at 11:00 a.m. in the Chapel at Watson-Hunt Funeral Home in Perry. The family will visit with friends on Friday, March 11, 2016, from 10:00 until 11:00 a.m., the hour immediately preceding the service. In lieu of flowers, the family respectfully requests memorial contributions to American Cancer Society, 804 Cherry Street, Macon, GA 31201 or Grace Church, 1736 Houston Lake Road, Perry, GA 31069. Mr. Champion was born in Quitman, Mississippi, and grew up in Stonewall, Mississippi. He graduated from Zack Huggins High School in 1970. After 24 ½ years of service in the United States Air Force earning the rank of Master Sergeant E-7, Mr. Champion retired in Warner Robins, Georgia, in 1995. He was preceded in death by his father, Arvin Yance Champion, of Stonewall, Mississippi. Mr. Champion is survived by his wife, Susan Johnson Champion; his mother, Eunice Thomas; his sister, Bonnie F. Moore; his children, Rachael D. Champion Albritton and Matthew R. Champion; and his grandchildren, Colton J. Albritton, Chase J. Albritton, Cameron J. Albritton, and Brittany R. Conner.
