Bobby Griffin's Obituary
ST. SIMONS ISLAND, GA-
Bobby Griffin, 70, passed away on Tuesday, December 11, 2012, after an extened illness. Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, December 15, 2012 at 11:00 a.m. at Watson-Hunt Funeral Home in Perry. Interment will be in Woodlawn Cemetery in Perry immediately following the service. Visitation will be from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m., the hour before the service, at the funeral home.
Bobby was born in Perry, Georgia, to the late Marvin Griffin, Sr., and Ruth Tabor Griffin Bunting. He was a graduate of Perry High School and attended Georgia Southern, where he was on the tennis team, and he later transferred to the University of Georgia. Bobby retired as a Plant Manager in the Textile Industry. He had lived in St. Simons Island for the past four years, having moved there from Eufaula, Alabama. He attended the St. Simons Island Community Church. He spent many hours on the golf course and on the beach, two of the places he loved to do what he enjoyed most. Bobby was known to many friends and family as "Baw Baw", and to his grandchildren, he was "Pa Pa". An avid University of Georgia football fan, he is sure to be cheering from Heaven for his Dawgs. He was preceded in death by two of his brothers, Marvin Griffin, Jr., and Ronnie Griffin.
Left to cherish the memories are his loving wife of 18 years, Diane Moore Griffin of St. Simons Island; his children, Chris Griffin (Brandi) of Warner Robins, Angela Griffin of Nashville, Tennessee, Kellie Blogg (John) of St. Simons Island, and Eric Peters of Griffin; his brother, Terry Griffin (Tenna) of Marietta; and four grandchildren, Daniel Griffin, Rayvan Griffin, Carley Blogg, and Kingston Blogg.
