PERRY-Bobbie Jean Moody Spears, 82, passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, June 17, 2017. Graveside Services will be held on Wednesday, June 21, 2017, at 11:00 a.m. in Meriwether Memorial Gardens in Manchester. A Visitation will be held on Tuesday, June 20, 2017, from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. at Watson-Hunt Funeral Home.Mrs. Spears was born in Warm Springs, Georgia, and was the daughter of the late Alphus G. and Minne Mae Moody. She had lived in Perry since 1971, and worked for the Houston County Board of Education for many years as a paraprofessional and a substitute teacher. Mrs. Spears loved her sons, and just behind them were the Georgia Bulldogs, Atlanta Braves, and Atlanta Falcons. She also loved her "fur babies". Mrs. Spears was preceded in death by her loving husband, Harold C. Spears, who passed away in 1983.Left to cherish the memories of Mrs. Spears are her sons, Alphus Spears of Hapeville, Paul Spears of Perry, Chuck Spears of Cochran, and Lee Spears of Rockmart; her sister, Betty McGough of Aspermount, Texas; her grandchildren, Curtis Spears and Jarred Spears; and her great-grandchild, Fox Federer.
