CORDELE –
Mrs. Jimmie Slade Hutchinson, 82, passed away on May 22, 2025, following an extended illness. She was preceded in death by her husband of 40 years, Mr. Billy Van Hutchinson, 78, who passed away on September 6, 2024. A Memorial Service to celebrate the lives of both Billy and Jimmie Hutchinson will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, May 29, 2025, at Pleasant Hill Free Will Baptist Church , 540 Parker Road, Vienna, GA, where Mr. and Mrs. Hutchinson both attended, and she was a member. The family will receive friends for Visitation at 10:00 a.m., one hour prior to the service, at Pleasant Hill Free Will Baptist Church.
Jimmie was born in Cordele to the late James Howard Slade and the late Hazel Slade McKinney. She was preceded in death by her sister, Sabra Coleman. She is survived by her children, Kay Kennedy Vogt of Melbourne, FL, Sherry Kennedy Evans (Keith) of Vienna, and Thomas David Kennedy, Jr. (Aimee) of Denver, CO; her siblings, Jeff Slade (Sue) of Peachtree City, and Sandy McKinney Hobbs (Billy) of Cordele; six grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and several nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews.
Billy Van Hutchinson was born in Columbus to the late Lee Willie and Lizzie Mae Hartley Hutchinson. He was preceded in death by his parents; his sons, Jonathan Todd Hutchinson and James Van Hutchinson; and his sisters, Jean Hutchinson Dupriest and Therese Hutchinson Turner. He is survived by several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews.
