PERRY –
William Fred “Bill” Moss, 75, passed away unexpectedly on Sunday, June 19, 2022, after a brief illness. Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, June 25, 2022, at Crossroads United Methodist Church. Visitation will be held at 2:00 p.m., and the service will begin at 3:00 p.m. with Reverend Leland Collins officiating. Entombment in the Dogwood Mausoleum in Perry Memorial Gardens will be private. In lieu of flowers, the family respectfully requests memorial contributions be made to Crossroads United Methodist Church, 1600 Main Street, Perry, GA 31069, or Loaves and Fishes, 1117 Main Street, Perry, GA 31069.
Bill was born in Toccoa on August 22, 1946, to the late Fred and Ruth Stancil Moss. He graduated from Fort Valley High School and went on to further his education at the University of Georgia where he earned a Degree in Pharmacy. When he first came to Perry in 1970, Bill worked at Elliot Drugs and opened Moss Pharmacy on Morningside Drive in 1976 where he served his community for over twenty years. In 2002, he accepted a position in the pharmacy of Perry Hospital and retired in 2010. After Bill’s retirement, he volunteered at Loaves and Fishes on Monday mornings, meeting many people and continuing to serve his community alongside friends. He was a long-time member of Crossroads United Methodist Church and served on various church committees through the years.
Bill was preceded in death by his parents.
Left to cherish the memories they made with Bill are his loving and devoted wife of fifty-six years, Vennie Harbuck Moss of Perry; his son and daughter-in-law, Scott and Rachel Moss of Perry; his grandsons, Matt Moss and Logan Moss; his brother, Seaborn Moss (Karen) of Rome, Ga.; his sisters-in-law, Helen Bryan (Charles) and Lynn Mullins (Kim); and several nieces, great-nieces and great-nephews.
