PerryBetty Jean Booth Hovatter, 78, passed away unexpectedly on Friday, August 5, 2016 while on vacation at Fernandina Beach, Florida. A graveside service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, August 9, 2016 at Woodlawn Cemetery. A visitation will be held 6-8 pm at Watson-Hunt Funeral Home on Monday.Mrs. Hovatter was born in Lenox, Georgia and was the daughter of the late Leonard and Izora Booth. She had resided in Perry since 1964 and was a member of Grace Church. A member of the Pilot Club and Garden Club, she was a faithful "ambassador" for the city with the Perry Chamber.A volunteer for many years, she cherished being a "fair-cracker" for the Georgia National Fair..Left to cherish her memory are her daughter, Stepheny Hatchett (Mack) of Fort Valley; siblings, Hazel Sumner of Nashville, Georgia and Sam Booth of Tifton, Georgia; one grandson, William Zachary Hatchett of Fort Valley; several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 53 years, William Hovatter; two infants; siblings, Delores, Ida Jane, Johnson, and J. C.Condolences may be left at watsonhunt.com
