FOLEY, AL -Bertha Janssen Meens, formerly of Perry, GA, passed away on Thursday, August 4, 2016. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Monday, August 8, 2016, at 2:00 p.m. at St. Patrick Catholic Church in Kathleen, GA. Interment will be in Perry Memorial Gardens immediately following the service. In lieu of flowers, the family respectfully requests memorial contributions to St. Patrick Catholic Church, 2410 GA Hwy 127, Kathleen, GA 31047.Mrs. Meens was born and grew up in Holland. After high school graduation, she went to trade school to be a tailor. She met and married the love of her life, Al Meens, and they immigrated to the United States in 1959 and settled in Perry for him to work with his brother. Mrs. Meens was a master seamstress and sewed for many, many people in Perry throughout the years she lived there. She was a member of St. Patrick Catholic Church. Mrs. Meens was preceded in death by her loving husband of 39 years, Aloisius "Al" Meens.Left to cherish the memories of Mrs. Meens are her daughters and their husbands, Tina and Albert Sprouse of Foley, Alabama, and Marlouke and Edwin Brannen of Conyers, Georgia; 4 grandchildren; and 5 great-grandchildren.Condolences for the family may be left in the online guestbook at www.watsonhunt.com.Watson-Hunt Funeral Home has been entrusted with the arrangements.
