BARBARA TIDWELL's Obituary
KATHLEEN -
Barbara “Bobbie” Davis Tidwell, 85, passed away peacefully on Thursday, November 6, 2025, with loved ones by her side. Funeral Services will be held on Sunday, November 9, 2025, at 1:00 p.m. in the chapel at Watson-Hunt Funeral Home in Perry, preceded by visitation, beginning at 12 Noon. Entombment will be in the Resurrection Mausoleum in Perry Memorial Gardens immediately following the service.
Bobbie, whose husband was career Air Force, moved with him and their family all over the world, including Okinawa, Japan, among many other fabulous locations. She gave continuous efforts to create a loving home and encouraging environment in which to raise their family, wherever they lived. Once they settled in Houston County, Bobbie worked in Civil Service as a Gyro Mechanic at Robins Air Force Base for twenty-eight years, a job that she loved and enjoyed until her retirement.
She always wanted to take pictures of and be in pictures with her family or the group of friends she was with, because she loved everyone being together. Christmas was always a “big deal” for Bobbie, from decorations to family gatherings. Her generosity and love of cooking continuously brightened everyone around her. As her family says, she always enjoyed watching them eat. Bluegrass music was Bobbie’s favorite, and she especially liked it live at the festivals they attended. She enjoyed camping, and often spent time “junking” with friends at flea markets and the like. She attended Calvary Baptist Church. Through the years, Bobbie had Chihuahuas, her faithful companions, and she always knew they would be happy to see her when she walked in the door.
Bobbie was preceded in death by her parents, Eddie Lee and Alene Brown Davis; a sister, Joann Hamsley; and her son, Steven Tidwell.
Left to cherish the memories they made with Bobbie are her loving and devoted husband of seventy years, Marshall “Buck” Tidwell of Kathleen; her daughter and son-in-law, Cindy and Robert Lewis of Perry; her daughter and two grand-fur-babies, Diane Couch of Perry; four grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; her siblings, Mary McCarty, Jean Baugh, Peggy Carroll, and Jimmy Davis; and many nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews.
Condolences for the family may be left in the online guestbook at www.watsonhunt.com. Watson-Hunt Funeral Home has been entrusted with the arrangements.
