Barbara Ann Perkins Bowling's Obituary
Barbara Ann Bowling, 52 of Elko, Georgia, passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, November 19, 2019. Visitation will be held at Watson-Hunt Funeral Home on Saturday, November 23, 2019, beginning at 1:00 p.m., with Memorial Services to follow at 2:00 p.m. The family will accept flowers or donations may be made in her memory to Ronald McDonald House Charities of Central Georgia Inc., 1160 Forsyth Street, Macon, Georgia 31201.
Barbara was born in Montezuma, Georgia, to James Thomas and Sandra Short Perkins, on May 12, 1967. She was a Macon County High School graduate and earned an Associate’s Degree in Accounting from South Georgia Technical College, where she was the recipient of the Georgia Outstanding Award of Leadership (G.O.A.L) in 1998, and was employed with Haugabook and Hudgins, LLC in Oglethorpe. Barbara loved her role as mother, and treasured being “Grandma” and “Mimi” to her precious grandchildren. She loved travelling all over the country with her beloved husband, Dan, where they would crisscross the United States in their RV, but her most favorite travel destination was to Panama City Beach, surrounded by her family. In her free time, Barbara loved taking flowers that seemed lifeless and bringing them back to life. She was an amazing person, with a solid heart of gold and she will be greatly missed for her ability to love everyone regardless of their flaws. Barbara was preceded in death by her father, James Thomas Perkins.
Left to cherish the memories that they shared with Barbara are her loving husband, Dan Bowling of Elko; her children, Joshua Bowling (Regina) of Jacksonville, Florida, Mitch Bowling (Tiffany) of Garden Valley, Georgia, Brandi Bragg (Justin) of Elko, Georgia, Bobby Jones of Montezuma, Georgia; her grandchildren, Axl Jones, Grace Bowling, Jace Bragg, Bo Bowling, Samantha Bowling, Gunner Bragg; her mother, Sandy Cromer (John) of Montezuma; her siblings, Sherry Cromer and Dan Cromer, both of Montezuma; and many other family members and friends.
Watson-Hunt Funeral Home has been entrusted with the arrangements. Condolences for the family may be left in our online guestbook at www.watsonhunt.com.
