She had been living in Jacksonville, Florida, and met the love of her life, her soulmate, Gary Jones, and moved to Perry where the couple would make their home and raise 6 children together. Barbara was a hard worker, often having more than one job simultaneously. She was a phone operator, worked in retail sales, and was an equipment operator. She retired from Boeing after her health declined, and she was diagnosed with Lung Disease. If anyone came to her in need, she would make sure that they were taken care of in some form or fashion. Barbara was very resourceful and would call friends to also help people in need. She would even give the shirt off her back if it was needed or allow strangers to stay with her when they didn't have anywhere to go. When she was able, Barbara hosted family dinners at her home. She dearly loved her family and delighted in spending time with them. Barbara was a member of Clinchfield Presbyterian Church.
