Audrey W. George, 94, passed away on Friday, April 19, 2013 at the Heart of Georgia Hospice Inpatient Facility, with her loving family by her side. A graveside service will be held on Monday, April 22 at 2:00 p.m. in Waycross,Georgia at Oakland Cemetery. The family suggests contributions to Heart of Georgia Hospice, 103 Westridge Drive, Warner Robins, GA 31088.
The family will greet friends between 2 -4 p.m. on Sunday, April 21 at the funeral home. There will be a memorial service at 3:00 p.m. at the funeral home during the visitation time.
Mrs. George was born in Telfair County and was the daughter of the late Edgar and Edna Davis Wooten. She had lived in Perry for nearly 12 years, moving from Waycross where she had lived most of her life. Mrs. George was the prior financial secretary of the First Baptist Church in Waycross where she was still a member.
Left to cherish her memory are her son; Jeff George (Christy) of Perry; grandchildren, Ashley McConnell (Brad) of Perry and Kearse George of Denver, Colorado; three grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband,Vernard Elmo George.
