Mrs. Abrams was born in Cochran to the late P. D. and Lola NeSmith Meadows. She lived in Perry most of her life. A graduate of Perry High School's Class of 1945, she always enjoyed the class reunions. Mrs. Abrams worked for a number of years at The Vanity Shop in downtown Perry. When it closed, she began working at Jones Jewelers from where she retired after 25 years. A long-time member of Perry United Methodist Church, she was also a member of the IHS Sunday School Class. She was a former member of the Perry Business Women's Club. She loved to travel, and was active with several different groups through the years, including the Forty-Niners Travel Club and PUMC's Prime Time Senior Group. One of her hobbies was taking pictures. She captured the memories of all of the places she visited and all of the fun times she spent with family, and she had special photo albums in which to keep them. Mrs. Abrams was a huge Atlanta Braves fan and enjoyed going to the games in Atlanta when she could. A selfless and giving person, everything she did was for someone else. She loved to cook, especially for her family, which was her greatest joy in life. Having them all visit her was particularly enjoyable, as she treasured the time with them and their friends, watching them all grow up. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 63 years, Henry Abrams; 2 brothers; and 1 sister.
Left to cherish the wonderful memories of "Bobo" are her daughters and their husbands, Beverly and John Birdsong of Perry, and Debbie and Johnny Scott of Elko; her brother, Wendell Meadows (Jeanie) of Hawkinsville; her grandchildren, Lance Bryant (Hannah), Kelly Sexton (Will), Keith Pace (Jennifer), and Christie Pace; her great-grandchildren, Laura Kate Pace, Julianna Pace, Liam Sexton, Conner Sexton, and Ashe Bryant; and several nieces and nephews.
The family will receive guests at Beverly and John's house. Friends are invited to leave condolences for the family in the online guestbook at www.watsonhunt.com. Watson-Hunt Funeral Home has been entrusted with the arrangements.
